The spiritWhat belongsWhat never belongsLocation safetyAnonymous postsReport & blockEnforcement

Aura has zero tolerance for abusive users and objectionable content. These rules apply to posts, photos, comments, usernames, avatars, aura.space, aura.link and every other interaction.

The spirit

Aura works when people add honest, useful and delightful context to the place they share. Be the neighbour you would want to meet. Disagree with an idea without targeting the person. Respect that real locations contain real people who did not necessarily choose to be posted about.

What belongs here

  • Local observations, questions, recommendations and spontaneous moments.
  • Constructive conversation about a venue, event, street or neighbourhood.
  • Original photos you have the right to share, taken with care for privacy.
  • Accurate safety information that does not create panic or expose a person.
  • Good-faith humour, debate and criticism that does not become harassment.

What never belongs here

Abuse and hate

No threats, targeted humiliation, bullying, stalking, encouragement of self-harm or violence, or attacks based on protected characteristics.

Sexual exploitation

No sexual content involving minors, grooming, trafficking, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual threats or exploitation. We report apparent child sexual abuse material as required by law.

Privacy violations

No home addresses, live movements, private contact details, sensitive records, intimate content, or images intended to identify or endanger someone without a lawful basis and permission.

Illegal and dangerous activity

No fraud, sale of illegal goods, credible criminal coordination, dangerous challenges, instructions that create a serious risk of harm, or content supporting violent extremist organisations.

Spam and manipulation

No scams, repetitive promotion, impersonation, fake proximity, bots, scraping, vote coordination, engagement manipulation, or attempts to evade a restriction.

Intellectual property

Share only material you created or are authorised to use. Rights holders can contact support@theaura.space with identification of the work, the Aura content, contact details and a good-faith statement.

Stay safe in the real world

Never trespass, enter danger, use Aura while driving, or pressure anyone to meet. Distance can be approximate. A beam, post or space is not an assurance that a location is safe, open, accessible or public. Call local emergency services—not Aura—during an emergency.

Anonymous does not mean unaccountable

Anonymous text posts hide the author from other users so ideas can stand on their own. Aura retains the account relationship for abuse prevention, moderation and legal obligations. Never use anonymity to harass, impersonate, expose private information or evade enforcement.

Report, block, step away

Use the in-app report control on a post, comment, photon or space. Block an account to stop bilateral interaction and hide its content. For urgent platform safety concerns, email support@theaura.space. Include enough context to find the content, but do not send unnecessary sensitive information. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact emergency services first.

How enforcement works

Depending on severity, context and history, we may reduce visibility, remove content, preserve evidence, warn, restrict features, suspend or permanently remove accounts, and notify relevant authorities. Severe harm can lead to immediate removal. Repeated attempts to evade action may affect related accounts. Mistakes can happen; request review at support@theaura.space with the account and decision details.
